The American Seed Trade Association's International Executive Committee (IEC) met recently to develop a strategy to address international issues that are seed industry priorities.
During the two-day session, the IEC discussed the range of international issues facing the seed industry and identified those issues that are fundamental to effectively conducting business in other countries.
These key issues are:
* Enforcement of intellectual property rights and regulatory advocacy.
* Phytosanitary issues and non-tariff trade barriers.
* Adventitious 1. accidental or acquired; not natural or hereditary. 2. found out of the normal or usual place. 3. adventitial.
