American Seafoods' Community Advisory Board Is Now Accepting Grant Applications.


Applications due February 19

SEATTLE -- The Community Advisory Board (CAB) of American Seafoods Company today announced that it is accepting applications for its Alaska community grant program. The deadline to submit applications is February 19 in order to be considered for funding at its next meeting on February 28.

In 2007, the CAB will distribute $75,000 to organizations in Alaska through its community grant program. At the February meeting, approximately $30,000 will be awarded to various Alaskan community projects that tackle issues such as hunger, housing, safety, education, natural resources and cultural activities.

In December, the CAB awarded grants to a variety of programs, including the Akutan Volunteer Fire Department ($3,000); Bristol Bay Bristol Bay
