AS&E(R) Signs UK-Based Distributor Colebrand Ltd.

(AMEX: ASE) (AS&E(R)), a leader in X-ray detection technology, announced today that Colebrand Security Systems, a division of UK-based distributor Colebrand, Ltd., is promoting AS&E's Z(R) Backscatter Van(TM) (ZBV) at Milipol Paris through November 21, 2003. This event marks the beginning of a new relationship between AS&E and Colebrand, to distribute AS&E's ZBV product and related services throughout Europe, Russia and the states of the former Soviet Union.

Z(R) Backscatter technology provides photo-like images of the contents of the object under examination, highlighting organic threats, such as plastic weapons or explosives, instantly.
