American Red Cross and Pacific Gas and Electric Company Offer Free Emergency Preparedness Pamphlets; Brochures Available at Albertsons Stores in Northern and Central California.

Beginning today, Albertsons stores throughout Northern and Central California will stock free emergency preparedness brochures produced by American Red Cross and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come basis.

The 32-page, four-color brochures contain valuable information about how to prepare your family for an emergency, including details on what to pack in a preparedness kit and how to turn off gas and electricity if disaster damage presents a threat. They also provide a list of emergency contact numbers and describe how to contact your local Red Cross chapter if you need assistance following an emergency.

As April is Earthquake Preparedness Month, officials from Red Cross and the utility hope that the heightened awareness about the potential for a disaster will encourage people to use this opportunity to get prepared.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company and American Red Cross embarked on a $1 million partnership four years ago that focuses on emergency preparedness. The brochure is one of the many results of that partnership, in addition to free CPR training and a variety of community outreach programs.
