American Red Cross Announces New Chairperson for Corporate Advisory Council.

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2001

The American Red Cross American Red Cross: see Red Cross.  announced today that Timothy J. McClimon, executive director of the AT&T Foundation, will serve as the chair of the organization's Corporate Advisory Council (CAC See Consumer Advisory Council. ). Past chairs include Stanley Wright of Eastman Kodak, Richard Mund of the Mobil Foundation and John Mason John Mason may refer to one of the following:
  • John Mason (announcer), sports announcer for the Detroit Pistons basketball team
  • John Mason (artist) (b. 1927), Ceramic artist from Los Angeles, California
  • John Mason (Australian politician) (b.
, chairman of the Monsanto Fund. With his significant experience in corporate philanthropy, McClimon will bring a new focus to this leadership role.

Established in 1986, the American Red Cross Corporate Advisory Council is comprised of executives from some of America's most respected companies. The CAC serves in an advisory role to the Red Cross, and the business and community leaders who serve on the council support the organization in the pursuit of charitable dollars. They also provide organizational outreach and assist in the identification of new issues affecting the American people An American people may be:
  • any nation or ethnic group of the Americas

  • see Demographics of South America
 to which the Red Cross could respond. McClimon will strengthen and develop the important role these philanthropic partners play in helping to enable fulfillment of the Red Cross mission to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
