American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter Reminds Residents to Change Smoke Alarm Batteries.

 Chapter reminds residents of the Greater Cleveland area to replace smoke alarm batteries.

Fire is the number one disaster that affects residents in the community. Properly working smoke alarms are the most effective way to prevent deaths caused by fire.

The Greater Cleveland Chapter's Operation Save-A-Life program offers free smoke alarms and batteries to residents who qualify as low-income, disabled or elderly. Eligible residents in Cleveland, Cleveland Heights Cleveland Heights, city (1990 pop. 54,052), Cuyahoga co., NE Ohio, a residential suburb of Cleveland; inc. 1903. It is known for its beautiful homes and interesting shops. Forest Hills Park, once part of an estate owned by John D. Rockefeller, offers recreational facilities. , East Cleveland East Cleveland, city (1990 pop. 33,096), Cuyahoga co., NE Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland; inc. 1911. Mostly residential, it has some declining light industry. It is, however, the site of a General Electric lamp factory and research laboratory. , Euclid, Newbury and South Euclid South Euclid (y`klĭd), city (1990 pop. 23,866), Cuyahoga co., NE Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland; inc. as a city 1940.
