American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter Providing Relief to Two Emergencies in Cleveland Area.

CLEVELAND -- The American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter has opened a reception center at the Painesville YMCA, 933 Mentor Avenue, Painesville to provide assistance to Painesville residents who have been evacuated from their homes because of a train derailment and fire.

The Red Cross is providing temporary shelter, meals, and snacks to families and individuals who reside in the affected area.

In addition, the American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter is providing mass care services, including food and water to people affected by the Cleveland High School shooting at Success Tech, 1440 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland.

The Greater Cleveland Chapter helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies by providing shelter, food, clothing and mental health counseling to families affected by disasters in Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties. All disaster relief is free and is made possible by generous donations from the American people. The Chapter also provides CPR, First Aid, Water Safety and preparedness training to thousands of individuals each year. The Greater Cleveland Chapter has been the respected humanitarian disaster response organization in our community for 102 years.
