AFMs are used to solve processing and materials problems in electronics, telecom, biology and other high-tech industries. ) announced today that it is extending its offer to exchange all outstanding shares of its 11 3/8 percent Cumulative Exchangeable Preferred Stock Stock shares that have preferential rights to dividends or to amounts distributable on liquidation, or to both, ahead of common shareholders.

Preferred stock is given preference over common stock. Holders of preferred stock receive dividends at a fixed annual rate. , Series A, four shares of 11 3/8 percent Cumulative Exchangeable Preferred Stock, Series B, until 5:00 p.m. eastern time on Friday, June 27, 1997.
