"The radio reaches 96 percent of all consumers on a weekly basis, making this reality competition the largest of its kind. Unlike the television reality shows that are image based, ARI is purely talent based, and contestants will be judged on their singing and musical performances alone," said American Radio Idol Spokesperson Laura Carnes.

Interested candidates should register at www.AmericanRadioIdol.com. Each contestant will receive a unique contestant ID number and instruction on how to participate in this event.

To date, over 50 radio stations a day have been signing onto the program. Radio stations who aren't yet participating, but would like to, may sign up at American Radio Idol's website. Once the contest begins, participating radio stations will receive a CD of the finalists in each round of competition. The radio stations will then have one week in which to air songs from the finalists in their respective station.
