American Para Professional Systems, Inc. Reports Initiation of Legal Action against Hooper Holmes, Inc. Claiming Unfair Competition.

JERICHO, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2003

American Para Professional Systems, Inc. ("APPS"), a privately held New York corporation, announced that the Supreme Court, New York County, issued a temporary restraining order in a case filed against Hooper Holmes, Inc. (AMEX:HH) d/b/a Portamedic ("Portamedic"), that enjoined and restrained Portamedic, as well as the former APPS Colorado representative, from soliciting paramedical testing business from any persons or entities that previously did business with APPS under its contract in Colorado; and from diverting any customers from APPS to Portamedic.

APPS has initiated its legal action to restrain Portamedic from (a) continuing to interfere with the contract between APPS and the former APPS Colorado representative; (b) aiding and abetting the former APPS Colorado representative to breach fiduciary duties owed to APPS; and (c) ordering an immediate disposition to determine the scope and content of the unfair competition in which Portamedic has been engaging.
