Creation of music in real time. Improvisation usually involves some preparation beforehand, particularly when there is more than one performer. Despite the central place of notated music in the Western tradition, improvisation has often played a role, from the

Posters of accepted research reports will be displayed. The author(s) of each accepted paper must be present at the conference poster session to discuss the research project with interested participants. The author(s) must also furnish 25 copies of a report summary, as well as 10 copies of the completed report.

All submissions must be postmarked or e-mailed by June 30, 2006.
