American Oilfield Divers announces sales of pipelay/bury barge American Enterprise.

Proceeds from the sale of the American Enterprise will be used to pay down the Company's debt and reduce its interest expense by approximately $500,000. AOD is currently negotiating a contract with the new owners to continue supplying divers for operations utilizing the American Enterprise.

"The sale allows AOD to reduce its working capital line and concentrate management efforts on what we do best -- manage diving operations," said George C. Yax, AOD's Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President. "Although we expect a busy 1996 Gulf marine construction season, the shallow water pipelay market is dominated by small operators which has led to intense pricing competition."
