American Multiplexer Corporation 'AMC' Announces an Agreement With Loral Skynet for Satellite Bandwidth to Offer High-Speed Internet Services.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1999--

American Multiplexer Corp. (OTC BB:AMUT) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Loral Skynet(TM), Bedminster, N.J., for testing its IP/DVB Network on the Telstar 6 Satellite, which will be used for the deployment of its high-speed Internet access services.

The IP/DVB Network developed by AMC provides high-speed Internet services for ISPs and Service Providers where DSL or cable modems are not available, or where they have a need for multimedia applications such as video conferencing and Multicast push technology integrated on the same PC monitor.

Loral Skynet operates the North American Telstar satellite fleet and the Orion 1 trans-Atlantic satellite covering the geographic areas where AMC will be offering its high-speed Internet services. Initial services will be deployed in the United States, followed by Latin America, Asia and Europe.

Loral Skynet offers full and fractional transponder services on its Telstar and Orion satellite fleets for data, Internet and telecommunications applications, in addition to broadcast video, cable programming, distance learning and direct-to-home services.

Loral Skynet leads the Loral Global Alliance, which offers AMC the advantages of a worldwide network of satellite capacity currently on the North American Telstar fleet, the trans-Atlantic Orion 1 satellite, on the three-satellite Satellites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V. (SatMex) fleet, as well as on future Europe-Star satellites.

AMC will also take advantage of Loral Skynet's satellite simulation facility located at their New Jersey world headquarters. The simulation facility will allow AMC to complete testing and licensing requirements for its 2-way satellite services, which will be introduce later this year. The Loral Skynet test facility should help AMC get product and services to market faster.
