American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), the leading developer of computing computing - computer  and storage solutions, introduces AMIDiag Suite 2.0, a diagnostics for IA-32 systems based on the Common Diagnostic Model application of CIM (1) (Computer-Integrated Manufacturing) Integrating office/accounting functions with automated factory systems. Point of sale, billing, machine tool scheduling and supply ordering are part of CIM. .

AMIDiag Suite 2.0 combines AMIDiag 2.0 for Windows and DOS-based AMIDiag 6.20 to create AMI's best diagnostic product to date.

AMIDiag 2.0 for Windows introduces important changes in the product architecture providing to OEMs, system administrators and service personnel the features they need:

AMIDiag Suite 2.0 for Windows features increased test coverage in several areas: Memory, Audio, Video, Modem, Network, Hard Disk and Floppy Disk. Control over tests has been improved with Test Timeouts and Halt-on-Error.

Further major enhancements include a detailed activity log, an improved console, the ability to run batch executions, Multilanguage capability, the possibility to utilize Windows Scheduler to schedule diagnostics and scripting execution via Microsoft Script Hosting.

DOS-based AMIDiag 6.20 has been also updated to include support for the latest technologies:

AMIDiag Suite 2.0 features a new way to get the latest and greatest updates from AMI. On the CDROM See CD-ROM.  (and installed with AMIDiag for Windows), there is a new utility called AMI Update. This utility, after registration of your product, will contact AMI's update servers directly and inform you if there are any updates to your installed AMIDiag products. Simply select the AMI Update Utility option on the main splash screen An introductory screen displayed by an application after it is loaded and just before it starts. It generally shows the software company's name, logo, copyright and other related information. Either it goes away by itself, or it requires the user to press escape or click the close button.  of your CDROM, enter your registration information, and you will receive the latest updates directly from AMI. Those will be free for one full year.

You must register online the serial number provided on the CD envelope in order to get the one-year free updates.

The AMI Update Utility will NOT periodically check for updates. You will have to launch the utility each time that you want to update your product. Check back with this utility often to see if there is any additional support for new hardware available for your products.
