And, all units are now shipping.

"AMI has stepped forward with bold new mid-range products for the storage marketplace. Designed for leading server integrators, these ultra-dense 1U and 3U solutions with eight or 12 Ultra160 SCSI hot swap drive bays provide an incredible competitive advantage with their unique form factor and incredible speed," said Michael Patellis, AMI national sales manager. "Now, with the new reduced pricing offered by AMI, the StorTrends and ServTrends solutions truly have a leading-edge in the industry."

1108-J and 1312-J, JBOD version

The StorTrends 1108-J and 1312-J are 1U eight drive and 3U 12 drive dual channel Ultra160 SCSI NAS high-performance and highly scalable solutions, respectively. The JBOD units have multiple redundancy features, including hot swappable fans and hot swappable power supplies.

AMI backplanes in both units offer Ultra160 (Ultra320 ready) slots and support for Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) v0.9 and v1.0. IPMI gives IT managers access to platform management information and control features, allowing more accurate predictions of hardware failures, diagnoses of hardware problems and the initiation of recovery actions.

1108-N, NAS version featuring Indium embedded controller

The 1108-N solution includes AMI's Indium, which combines its expertise in board, firmware and operating system environments. The Indium's appliance architecture provides a scalable, high-performance platform that addresses many applications, including NAS, web servers and other embedded environments.

The 1312-N solution features the ServTrends 1100-N custom-built sled chassis solution with a keypad, LCD display and LEDs enclosed around AMI's small form factor Indium.

The ServTrends 1100-N and 1100-P can be integrated into an off-the-shelf case that supports standard 5.25" form factors, added into a user's own NAS device, CD server, CD-ROM tower See CD-ROM server., optical disk library, CD/jukebox or can be incorporated into AMI's StorTrends 1312-N and 1312-P.

1108-P, 1312-P and 1100-P, full NAS solutions featuring the Indium and StorTrends NAS software

The 1108-P, 1312-P and ServTrends 1100-P feature the Indium (or ServTrends 1100-P for the 1312-P) and AMI's custom-designed NAS software, with Network File Protocols (CIFS, NFS), Network Transport Protocols (TCP/IP) and Hardware Health Monitoring. All AMI software resides on a network upgradable flash memory device, which leaves all hard drives 100 percent available for user data.

"This new pricing allows AMI to offer reduced pricing to its current customers, as well as encourage new customers to give us a try," said Rodney Damen, program manager for storage and server subsystems and motherboards.
