American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) today announced it is offering AMIDiag(R) 6.0 customers an AMIDiag(R) 6.02 upgrade at no cost. The 6.02 download is now available on AMI's web site at www.ami.com.

This new version provides the most advanced system information and computer diagnostics available today. Enhancements added to the AMIDiag 6.02 include CPU CPU
 in full central processing unit

AMIDiag 6.02's advanced features include CPU support for Intel(R), AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  and Cyrix. This release contains testing for ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) A power management specification developed by Intel, Toshiba and Microsoft that makes hardware status information available to the operating system. , SMBus and USB, AGP video, multicycle batch and enhanced memory, including a function to get SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them.  SPD (Serial Presence Detect) The method used by DIMM memory modules to communicate their capacity and features to the computer. Data such as manufacturer, size, speed, voltage and row and column addresses are stored in an EEPROM chip on the module.  information.
