American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a leader in storage and computing innovations worldwide, today announced it is demonstrating new versions of its MegaRAC(TM) management controller and StorTrends(R) NAS software at Comdex(R) Las Vegas 2003.

"The enhancements to AMI's StorTrends NAS software (with v2.2) and the MegaRAC G3 remote server management controller meet the demands of the global community by providing multiple language support and remote server management from any location, respectively."

StorTrends NAS software v2.2, which is offered to the channel market on AMI's StorTrends 2104 hardware and as a standalone software to OEMs, supports a variety of network storage applications and its flexible architecture and performance allows administrators to implement it for a wide range of storage applications. Small- to high-end businesses and home office users can create 'plug-n-run' storage with the NAS software and create advanced, fast backup and departmental or group level storage.

The NAS software can be used from anywhere and supports a variety of languages, including Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and German. It features a fast hardware setup, increased reliability with mirroring support and Enhanced Active Directory Service (eADS) support that allows administrators to easily change the access rights from the client.

Keeping consistent with its storage and server management focus, AMI is demonstrating its MegaRAC G3 card with increased performance and an OEM Platform Development Kit (PDK). Traditional remote access controllers (RAC See remote access concentrator. ) normally monitor hardware components, but the MegaRAC G3 improves upon this with a unique methodology to extend the system's manageability through its PDK. OEMs can build a policy-based provisioning software component and user interface and add their own intellectual properties based on the management or special hardware features.

In today's economy companies are struggling to keep their revenue growing at a constant rate; they demand steady productivity from their employees and 24/7 accessibility from their computer systems. A great challenge to an IT department lies in keeping its employees and systems up and running continuously. Companies must be prepared. MegaRAC G3 helps administrators prevent data loss and recover from down time from anywhere in the world.
