American Megatrends American Megatrends Incorporated (AMI) is a Georgia, USA based hardware company that creates PC hardware and firmware. It was founded in 1985 by the current chairman and president, S. Shankar. , Inc., a leading supplier of core technology solutions, today announced support for the Linux Operating System.

Software drivers for American Megatrends MegaRAID(R) controllers are now available for the latest release of the Red Hat Linux Red Hat Linux, assembled by Red Hat, was a popular, "middle-aged" Linux distribution (not as old as Slackware but older than Ubuntu) upon its discontinuation in 2004.[1]

AMI is also providing a RAID management utility called MegaRAID Manager, which will work under Linux to configure and manage MegaRAID based systems. This utility will be released the first week of November. Currently, MegaRAID users are able to use AMI's award-winning OS independent "BIOS Configuration Utility" for RAID configuration and management.
