American Media, Inc., Announces Joint Ventures with Latin World Entertainment and Univision TV Star Raul de Molina.

Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of American Media, Inc., announced today AMI has signed agreements to pursue various publishing opportunities with the Hispanic market's premiere talent agency, Latin World Entertainment, and Univision TV star Raul de Molina.

Latin World represents such international Latino stars as Sofia Vergara, Ana Maria Orozco, Myrka Dellanos, Marta Susana, Karla Martinez and de Molina. It is also actively involved in development projects for both movies and television. The agreement with AMI is to jointly produce publications, including magazines, paperbacks and hard cover books that utilize this talent pool for distribution in the United States, Mexico and Latin America.

"Latin World will help open new doors for AMI into the Hispanic celebrity marketplace," said Mr. Pecker. "We have already established our Latino Magazine Group, which consists of one of the best selling Spanish-language celebrity magazine on the newsstand, Mira!, as well as our upcoming launches of Shape En Espanol and Men's Fitness En Espanol. The titles we develop with Latin World will become an integral part of this group."

The first project is a magazine edited by Raul de Molina, better known to his millions of Univision fans as the co-host of the hit celebrity entertainment show "El Gordo Y La Flaca El Gordo y la Flaca (translated, The Fat Man and the Thin Girl) is a completely self-descriptive Spanish language television talk show. It first aired in 1998 and is hosted by Raúl De Molina aka El Gordo and Lili Estefan aka La Flaca. ".

Mr. de Molina's magazine will be based on all of the celebrity interviews he has done and exclusive photos he has taken over the years of the world's most famous Latinos. Mr. de Molina promises the magazine will reveal "their real secrets and scandals."

Regarding the agreement with Mr. de Molina, Mr. Pecker said, "Raul, or El Gordo Gordo, the Spanish word for fat, may refer to:
  • Gordo (space monkey), the first monkey to travel beyond Earth's orbit
  • Gordo, Alabama, Alabama, USA
  • Gordo (comic strip) a comic strip created by Gus Arriola
 as he is better known, is an invited guest into more homes than NBC NBC
