American Marketing Association, Houston Chapter Names Weatherford International 2007 Marketer of the Year.HOUSTON -- The AMA (Automatic Message Accounting) The recording and reporting of telephone calls within a telephone system. Houston Chapter announced today that it has awarded its 2007 Marketer of the Year honor to Weatherford International Ltd., a Houston-based oilfield services company. In total, 61 firms were nominated from a broad range of industries. A panel of local, independent business executives selected finalists from the nominees that represented some of the Houston's best-performing organizations and institutions. Finalists from 18 leading Houston-area corporations were honored. Final judging was done by a panel of independent marketing executives from outside of the Houston market. From the slate of category finalists, Weatherford was selected as Houston's Marketer of the Year. "This is a tremendous honor for Weatherford and our marketing team, both of which have adapted to our fast-paced growth by developing marketing programs that not only reflect Weatherford's ability to raise the bar beyond traditional oilfield marketing, but also across industry lines," commented Christine McGee, Vice President of Marketing for Weatherford. The award was presented at a ceremony held on February 7, 2007 at the Alley Theatre in downtown Houston.
