AMS to Resell Vertex's Supply Chain Management Software

Second Strategic Partnership for Vertex Since February 2001

Vertex Interactive, Inc. (NASDAQ:VETX) and American Management Systems (NASDAQ:AMSY), one of the world's 20 largest international business and information technology consulting firms, today announced the formation of a partnership through which AMS will resell Vertex's integrated suite of supply chain execution software. As part of this agreement, the companies will jointly develop a modular suite of integrated supply chain applications leveraging Vertex's leading-edge JAVA software for supply chain management with AMS's web-based financial, administrative, and procurement products.

With the addition of Vertex's "e-execution" JAVA capabilities, AMS intends to enhance its eBusiness suite and systems integration services across a wide range of its public sector client base, including federal, state and local government organizations. This partnership is in line with Vertex's program to substantially increase sales through indirect channels by establishing a select array of strategic alliances and reseller partners in target markets.

Vertex's JAVA-based order, inventory and warehouse management software will augment the functionality of AMS's solutions for AMS's government customers. AMS's JAVA-engineered financial and procurement solutions coupled with Vertex's JAVA-based supply chain suite will provide an integrated e-business product suite which Vertex and AMS will jointly market and service. The modules will form a comprehensive integrated solution for managing all aspects of finished goods inventory, including execution, fulfillment, procurement and financial reporting.
