Combining two of the most powerful media -- television and print -- Dynamic Media has created a digital publication on DVD, the fastest-growing consumer product in the world.

American Life(tm) is the first DVD magazine A DVD magazine is a magazine that collects most of its content on DVD, or is issued in a DVD-only format. There were a few VHS video magazines prior to the invention of DVDs.  designed for the public and offers all the same features as a conventional paper magazine, but with the power of full video and audio, and the ability to enjoy the content as a family and yet still be able to print out articles, recipes, projects and plans. Each issue of American Life(tm) has a table of contents and easy-to-read index printed on the back of each issue, and with a wide range of video sections, including a monthly feature story, food and wine, sports, travel, gadgets, health and entertainment (top 10 movie trailers, music videos, tape and DVD rentals, reviews and interviews).

Dynamic Media's mission is to become the global leader in publishing magazines on DVD. That includes direct marketing, creating and delivering content that informs, enriches, entertains and inspires people of all ages and cultures. Dynamic Media announced the availability of American Life(tm) on the newsstand and by subscription, with the first issue appearing in January 2002. Each DVD issue of American Life(tm) will sell for $6.95 on newsstands and subscriptions by mail for $59 per year. Limited special holiday pre-subscriptions are now priced at $50/year.

In a recent interview, Ian Jones, president of Dynamic Media, said: "We are very excited about this new product, and although the first issue will not be on the newsstand till January 2002, we are expecting holiday pre-subscription sales to do very well. It is the perfect gift that keeps giving all year; it is great for any member of the family, a friend, or associate.

"Advertisers love this new format for getting information to the consumer marketplace. They know the person watching wants to see information. They are able to do extended commercials designed just for American Life(tm). With testing we have found that the consumer is more responsive to the commercial when they are able to watch it when they want -- not in the middle of a television drama or a punchline in a comedy sitcom.
