American Lawyer Media Acquires Leading Legal Tradeshow Company.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1998--

LegalTech, To Become Part of Wasserstein Perella's

Growing Legal Publishing The production of texts that report laws or discuss the Practice of Law.

Originally limited to printed materials, legal publishing now encompasses electronic media as well, with most legal publications becoming available online or in CD-ROM format.

American Lawyer Media ALM (formerly American Lawyer Media), is a leading integrated media company, focused on the legal and real estate communities. ALM owns and publishes 33 national and regional magazines and newspapers focused on the legal and real estate communities, including  announced today the acquisition of Corporate Presentations, Inc., the leading producer of tradeshows and conferences for the legal industry, from Janet Felleman, who will be continuing with American Lawyer Media. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition combines American Lawyer Media's profitable seminar and conference business with the preeminent name in the legal technology exhibition and conference business. Under its LegalTech trade name, Corporate Presentations coordinates conferences in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of

With the added geographic outlets and marketing capabilities that American Lawyer Media provides, both the company and Ms. Felleman are confident that they will be able to grow the combined business substantially. Mr. Pollak, formerly a top business executive at The New York Times, recently joined American Lawyer Media as the chief executive. Mr. Pollak spent 15 years with The Times, the last six as an Executive Vice President. During his career, he has held a variety of marketing, advertising and circulation positions.

Ms. Felleman, who is bringing her key employees with her to American Lawyer Media, said that, "The benefits of such a combination are innumerable. Bruce Wasserstein Bruce Wasserstein (born December 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York)[1] is an American investment banker and businessman.
