American International Group, Inc. (AIG) (NYSE: AIG; TYO: 8685 ) is a major American insurance corporation based in New York City. INC.'s new board chairman effective Nov. 1. He will take over from FRANK G. ZARB, who has been the board's interim chairman since April 2005. Zarb will remain as a director and as a nonvoting member of each standing committee of the board. With Willumstad's accession to chairman and nonvoting member of the board's committees, MORRIS W. OFFIT will take over from Willumstad as chairman of the finance committee. MICHAEL H. SUTTON Michael H. Sutton is the former Chief Accountant of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and a Director of American International Group. will succeed Offit as chairman of the audit committee. Offit will remain as a member of the audit committee. AIG also announced the appointment of VIRGINIA M. ROMETTY as a director. |
