American International Group Inc.'s American General Life Insurance Co. unit said it acquired Matrix Direct Inc., a direct marketer of term life insurance, from Protective Life Corp.


AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC.'S AMERICAN GENERAL LIFE INSURANCE CO. unit said it acquired MATRIX DIRECT INC., a direct marketer of term life insurance, from PROTECTIVE LIFE CORP. Financial terms weren't disclosed. The San Diego-based Matrix Direct will become part of the domestic life insurance operations of AIG.
