The 2004 Great White Shark great white shark
 or white shark

Large, aggressive shark (Carcharodon carcharias, family Lamnidae), considered the species most dangerous to humans. It is found in tropical and temperate regions of all oceans and is noted for its voracious appetite.
Research Expedition sponsored by the American Institute of Marine Studies (AIMS) and led by Neil Hammerschlag will take place in South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa.  June 16-29, 2004. The public is invited to join South Florida students and teachers as well as an international team of shark researchers to study the biology and behavior of Cape Town's Great White Sharks with renowned researchers from the ReefQuest Centre for Shark Research including Chris Fallows, Rob Lawrence and R. Aidan Martin. Together, they will study Great White Sharks hunting in their natural environment, flying out of the water in pursuit of their prey, Cape Fur Seals.

ReefQuest's study site, Seal Island Seal Island can refer to:
  • Seal Island, South Africa - Located just off the coast of South Africa and known primarily for attacks by Great White Sharks on the Cape Fur Seal.

Seal Island provides a truly unique and rare opportunity to observe natural predation predation
