American Institute of Health Technology Changes Name to Apollo College.

BOISE, Idaho -- The American Institute of Health Technology (AIHT) in Boise, Idaho, is excited to announce that as part of its integration into the U.S. Education Corporation (USEC) system of colleges, the campus has changed its name to Apollo College effective January 1, 2005. This name change will allow the Boise campus to be marketed alongside the other seven Apollo College campuses owned by USEC.

USEC, a leader in providing career-focused, postsecondary education and training in the Western United States, is quickly emerging to have a strong presence in the career college industry. In less than three years, its platform has expanded to serve over 7,500 students at sixteen campuses in six states. The momentum and expansion is anticipated to continue.

George Montgomery, President and CEO of USEC, said: "Since October of last year, the college has been instituting a number of significant changes, including expansion of the Dental Hygiene program operatory, facility renovations, library expansion, new equipment installations, curriculum revisions, new program offerings, and a significant increase in the number of faculty and educational management positions."

Since 1980, AIHT has been offering degree and certificate programs in a variety of healthcare programs including Dental Assistant, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Technician, Massage Therapy, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Pharmacy Technician. New program offerings are being planned for the future.

"We are very proud of the long tradition of AIHT in Boise," said Jeff Akens, Executive Director of the Boise campus. "The campus is excited to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. Though the college is celebrating under a new name, the tradition of providing quality healthcare education in the Treasure Valley is continuing.

"The local healthcare community, which has supported the campus for the past 25 years, has reacted favorably to the name change. Members of the college's academic advisory boards, and employers who support the college's externship programs have expressed their support for this change."
