Among the Institute's variety of publications is another newsletter, The AICR Good-News-Letter, which is geared toward children ages 7-10. The quarterly AICR Newsletter "includes features on nutrition, exercise, research and general health with the goal of educating people on how to reduce their cancer risk," says AICR education project manager Amy Knoll. The design of the newsletter combines large, attractive illustrations in purple and black with an eminently readable read·a·ble adj. 1. Easily read; legible: a readable typeface. 2. True to its goal of making healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle appealing to even the casual reader, the newsletter has a "fun" feeling to it--both visually and editorially. The table of contents, for example, is headed "Look Inside for Ideas to Fill Your Days With Health," followed by seven brief article descriptions. Similarly, its recipe section is touted in a reverse p. 1 banner: "Staying in town this spring? FREE recipes bring the world to you, details on page 2." An excellent job all the way around!
