All of the new features available in the print edition of the American Heritage(R) Dictionary, Fourth Edition -- usage notes, regional notes, geographical and biographical entries, and appendixes of Indo-European and Semitic roots -- will be available in the version embedded in netLibrary's eBooks. The embedded dictionary also will include10,000 new words reflecting the changes in technology and American culture that have taken place since the dictionary's third edition was released in 1992.

Houghton Mifflin Company's editors have selected more than 4,000 photos, drawings, maps, and other graphic elements to illustrate the print version of the dictionary. netLibrary will provide 900 of these images in digital form, and users can enlarge the images on their computer screens according to according to
