The profit includes a 6-1/8 dollar gain on Midlantic at market close July 10, 1995. Midlantic rose 16% to close at 47-5/8 July 10 on news of its acquisition by PNC PNC Purdue University North Central (Westville, Indiana)

"American Growth Fund has made a great deal of money for its shareholders by selecting bank stocks that would be acquired by super regionals at premium prices," said Robert Brody, president and portfolio manager. Some of these acquisitions were:
