American General Names Kane President of AG Fund Group.

) today named Alice T. Kane as president of AG Fund Group. Kane reports directly to John A. Graf, vice chairman and group executive - retirement services. AG Fund Group was formed earlier this year to manage American General's strategic partnerships with top mutual fund managers in order to leverage the company's scale, distribution and marketing strengths as an accumulator of assets.

In commenting on the announcement, Graf said, "Alice's solid business acumen, her success in building mutual funds and her demonstrated leadership will position AG Fund Group to build on our core strengths and expand our product portfolio to meet the evolving needs of our customers. We're confident that Alice will play a key role in establishing strategic partnerships that deliver the best product and value to our customers, and the best marketing and training to our sales representatives."

Kane, 51, most recently served as executive vice president of American General Investment Management, L.P., with responsibility for retail asset management. She will continue to serve as president of the American General Series Portfolio Company. Prior to joining the company, Kane was executive vice president and member of the executive management committee of New York Life Insurance Company The New York Life Insurance Company (NYLIC) is the largest mutual life-insurance company in the United States, and one of the largest life insurers in the world.[3] . From 1994 to 1998, she managed New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Life's $40 billion asset management division, which included the retail and institutional MainStay Funds and MacKay Shields. Kane also served as general counsel for New York Life from 1986 to 1994. A native of New York, Kane received her B.A. in political science from Manhattanville College Manhattanville College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college located in Purchase, New York, USA. Manhattanville's mission is to "educate students to become ethically and socially responsible leaders for the global community.  in 1969 and her J.D. from New York University School of Law Coordinates:  The New York University School of Law (NYU Law) is the law school of New York University. Established in 1835, the school offers the J.D., LL.M., and J.S.D.  in 1972. She completed the Professional Management Development Program at Harvard University in 1985.
