WHAT: A different kind of professional football kicks off in
London Sunday when the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants
play the first-ever regular season NFL game outside of North
America. Tickets for the game sold out quickly and are now
selling for well over $1,000.
viagogo, the leading secondary ticketing company in Europe
and official NFL partner, reports that tickets for the game
are selling for $145 to $1,500, or an average of $490
"Presumably Londoners know this is the kind of football
played with the oblong brown ball, but I also wouldn't be
shocked if we received a few complaints by confused Brits,"
joked Eric Baker, CEO of viagogo and co-founder of StubHub.
Baker split with StubHub in 2004 and established viagogo,
which is the European secondary ticketing leader and
launched operations in the US this summer.
