American Fire Retardant Corp.'s American Safety Products Division and LCM Technologies Introduces the C.A.T.C.H.E.R.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2004

American Safety Products, a division of American Fire Retardant Corp. (OTCBB:AFRT), yesterday unveiled the C.A.T.C.H.E.R. at the GSE International Expo (Aviation Industry Week -- www.aviationindustryweek.com) in Las Vegas. Ira Tabankin, President of LCM Technologies, Inc, a division of American Safety Products, introduced the C.A.T.C.H.E.R. in a joint panel discussion with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC), ATS-Denver, Inc. and LCM Technologies.

The LCM C.A.T.C.H.E.R. (Communications And Telemetry Computing Handheld for Emergency Response) is the world's first "video-centric" command-and-control, portable wireless video and data device for security applications. Northrop Grumman showed their Alert Video technology and ATS-Denver demonstrated the GIS software package, both of which will run on the C.A.T.C.H.E.R. platform. The initial purpose of the device is to provide security at airports and other transportation centers with the ability to oversee the entire security system on a portable, hand-held device.

Mr. Tabankin began by saying "Cameras, cameras everywhere and not enough eyes to see." He stated, "This device gives you the security world in the palm of your hand, wherever you might be. What was once science fiction is now a reality." Tabankin said that the response to his presentation and the device was "overwhelming, and actually shocking would be a better description." Some of the other comments he heard were "Can this really be?" and "All of this in such a small package."

LCM Technologies is part of the new American Fire Retardant Corp. AFRC and its American Safety Products Inc. division are committed to bringing "Life Safety" products to market and preventing tragedy rather than reacting to it.
