American Fire Retardant Announces Start of Work at Los Angeles Performing Arts Center.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2003

American Fire Retardant Corp. (OTCBB:AMFR) announced today that they began work at the L.A. Performing Arts Center this week. They are expected to be on the job approximately 5 weeks. Stephen F. Owens, President of AFRC, said, "The start of this job is just some of the work we are doing and have done in the recent past. We are continuing our work on the Miami International Airport and have just recently completed work in Lompoc, California on a medical center and have also just completed treating thatch roofs on a building for Oracle in Woodside, California."

Mr. Owens continued by saying, "On the construction side of our business, we continue to perform work for which we have contracts and continue to bid jobs to get new contracts. In regards to 3-in-1 Hero, the television advertising has begun this week in New York and will air next week in St. Louis. We will continue to run the ads in different cities in the near future and will announce those cities as arrangements are made to get them scheduled. We feel this year will be a turning point in our company as we anticipate 3-in-1 Hero to be successful and we will also be introducing TreeSafe later this year. TreeSafe is a spray-on fire retardant for Christmas trees that we expect to be very popular with the public every Christmas season."
