* AMERICAN FAMILY MUTUAL INSURANCE CO. has accepted the retirement resignation of Chief Executive Officer HARVEY PIERCE, effective Dec. 31, 2006. DAVID ANDERSON also was named chairman and chief executive officer effective Jan. 1, 2007.

Anderson has served as president and chief operating officer since February 1999. He joined the company in 1975 as budget director.
