American Equipment Company Awarded Equipment and Tools Contract for BP Oil's Ohio Project.

GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1998--American Equipment Co. (AMECO), an operating company of Fluor Daniel (NYSE:FLR), Tuesday announced it will be the sole-source supplier of equipment, maintenance, tools, scaffolding and related services for BP Oil's Toledo Repositioning Project (TRP) in Ohio. The contract value was not disclosed.

BP Oil's TRP at the refinery in Toledo has been underway for 10 months to upgrade heavy crude fractions into higher value transport fuels. The project is being managed by the Alliance Management Team (AMT), a consortium of contractors, and Fluor Daniel is supplying construction management services.

"American Equipment has the unique opportunity to manage all equipment, tools and scaffolding for the AMT on behalf of BP Oil," said Woody Reid, manager of Site Services for AMECO. "In addition, we will support the BP Oil plant turnarounds during construction of the TRP project."

AMECO will work in concert with its subsidiary and U.S. dealership -- S&R Equipment -- in Perrysburg, Ohio, just 20 minutes from the BP Oil plant. S&R Equipment is the No. 1 equipment dealer for JLG Industries, with a fleet of 2,500 aerial work platforms and Grove Cranes.

To efficiently manage and forecast the entire fleet requirements for the project, AMECO will use its AEGIS(SM) Fleet Management System. Each of the individual contractor's needs will be tracked and consolidated into a master BP Oil schedule to maximize equipment and resource utilization. The tools and scaffolding will be inventoried with a customized bar-code management system.
