American Electronics Association San Diego Council Announces New Executive Director.

) today announced the appointment of Kevin Carroll as its Executive Director.

A local committee of high-tech leaders selected Carroll from a large group of candidates. "We are delighted that Kevin has taken the Executive Director Post. The AEA is entering a period where our membership is growing in numbers in numbered parts; as, a book published in numbers.

He tripled AEA membership in that region.

The AEA San Diego Council also announced several other changes. In October the AEA will be relocating to larger offices located on Lusk Boulevard across from the Ericsson Design Center. The change reflects the growth of the council, which is now over 175 members. The Council also announced that the successful Electronics Industry Recognition Week has been renamed to the High-Tech Industry Recognition Week. This year the event will be held on October 17th, 11:30am - 1:30pm at the Hilton Torrey Pines Hotel. Most people are surprised to find out that our largest segment of membership is software firms at 29%, said Carroll "the name change as well as several new award categories more accurately reflects our membership".
