) announces that American Electric Power American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is a major investor-owner electric utility in various parts of the United States. It is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. It serves parts of 11 states, and is currently the largest electricity generating utility in the United States.  (AEP AEP - Application Environment Profile ) has decided to halt the first commercial scale demonstration project of the THERMALONOx(TM) emission reduction system. Thermal Energy has been advised by AEP, that AEP intends to maintain the current installation in place at the Conesville test site, pending further development and testing of the technology by Thermal Energy.

As previously announced, Thermal Energy (CDNX:TMG - news) has already commenced the Phase I OPTINOx(TM) and THERMALONOx(TM) experimentation, optimization and product development program, on a pilot site, in order to develop new advanced features to optimize performance of the technologies.

Under a separate initiative, Thermal Energy is pursuing the development of additional pilot scale OPTINOx(TM)/THERMALONOx projects with other US companies.
