) today announced that it has been cleared to file an application to list its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

). The company anticipates that, subject to New York Stock Exchange approval, its common stock will begin trading on the NYSE under the symbol "AEO" on March 8, 2007. Until that time, American Eagle's shares will continue to trade on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the symbol "AEOS."
