Dr. Sekiguchi has served professional dentistry in a number of statewide and national capacities, including president and interim executive director of the California Dental Association (CDA), the largest constituent of the ADA. Since that time, Dr. Sekiguchi has held associate professorships at the University's School of Dentistry. He also holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission . Additionally, his daughter Jill, and son Kevin, are also practicing dentists who also share space with their father at their dental office in Monterey Park, Calif.
