musical battle of the Americas for Nescafe and the Ministry of Sound

-- the Largest Clubbing Brand in the World!

NESCAFE, the world's number one coffee brand, and Ministry of Sound, the world's biggest dance music brand, have searched the length and breadth of North, Central and South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  over the past three months to announce the selection of the four DJ finalists for the "Americas International" DJ Mixing Competition hosted by Nescafe and MOS (1) (Metal Oxide Semiconductor) See MOSFET.

Nations:
  •  Antigua and Barbuda
  •  Bahamas
of Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico. All of these deejays are international finalists who competed in the worldwide search for a new supreme DJ artist. All of the Americas finalists will be flown to Acapulco, Mexico to hit the decks at the famous Paradise Bar on Friday, December 13, where the finalists will kick and mix into high gear to demonstrate their skills, or shall we say "skilzzz," in front of a live audience of dance music's most avid fans.

"If the finalists can get over the excitement of playing the night before at the Paradise Bar, the true prize will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the lucky grand prize winner to play a one-hour set of their mix master spins at the NESCAFE Ministry of Sound Global Tour event at the Palladium Club the very next day on Saturday, December 14," says Amanda Steele, Marketing Manager-Nescafe, USA.

"This is an awesome opportunity to share the decks and spin vinyl alongside top international DJ's like DJ Kosheen and Andy Morris (N.Thrust)," said American finalist Christopher Arnold. "I'm definitely looking forward to mixing my music in front of a crowd of thousands of dance music fans. That's what I live for."

As part of the NESCAFE Ministry of Sound Global Tour, a worldwide DJ search was launched on Nescafe's global website, www.nescafelive.com. Split into European, North and Latin American and Middle Eastern, African, Asian and Australasian regions, the search was on to find the best amateur DJ's and give them a chance to unleash their talent and the echoes of their music beats with an international audience. Five specially commissioned tracks from Ministry of Sound were available on the site and budding DJ's simply mixed together their desired elements to make their very own original track. From the 5,319 people who entered the contest in the Americas, a team of music and club experts at the Ministry of Sound selected the top 10 mixes and the entrants were asked to send in a home video showing off their skills on a real set of decks.

The quality of the entries was mind blowing. Gareth Cooke, Ministry of Sound Resident DJ, said, "We were impressed by the number of fresh and innovative mixes we received. There is a ton of untapped DJ talent around the world, and the NESCAFE competition gave these artists a chance to shine."

With the European DJ winner already glowing in his victory and the Asian DJ's getting their chance to bust their tunes at the Asian Regional competition in the near future, the Americas regional finalists are ready to claim victory. If you're in Acapulco this December and want to see the potential DJ stars of the future, make tracks to the Paradise Bar on Friday, December 13, and to the Palladium Club on Saturday, December 14, 2002 to watch this battle of beats commence.
