ACE (American Computer Experience), the nation's only national provider of university based summer computer camps for kids announced today a major socially responsible education initiative for students who attend this summer's program.

As it prepares for another successful summer computer camp season, ACE expects to teach over 20,000 campers between ages 7 and 16 at over 85 major universities across the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. Taught in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, ACE campers are placed in small classes, loosely based upon age and experience. Curriculum focuses on programming classes in languages such as Basic, C, C++, JavaScript and Dynamic HTML (1) A general term for (HTML pages) Web pages that are customized for each user; for example, returning different values from a search. In order to give all children a chance at experiencing this advantage program, ACE works with many industry sponsors in addition to those mentioned above in order to assure that enough scholarships are available. "Although we are expecting to dramatically increase the number of campers enrolled in 1999, we have made certain that scholarships are available for a number of qualified students who may not be able to afford to go to camp," said Jim Beach, co-founder of ACE. ACE expects that 10% of its 20,000 available seats will be given to scholarship recipients. That's approximately 2,000 bright, interested kids who would not otherwise be able to attend camp.
