American College to Administer CLF Program.

In a new arrangement with Windsor, Conn.-based Limra International, The American College is assuming academic and administrative responsibility for the Chartered Leadership Fellow program, which is designed to improve managerial leadership by financial-services professionals in the United States and Canada.

Limra and the Bryn Mawr, Pa.-based college created the program in 1997. GAMA International, an association of general agents and managers, added its participation in 1998. While Limra will continue to support the program with communication and promotional activities, the new structure will eliminate functional duplication and streamline the administration of the CLF program, according to a press release by Limra and the college.

Richard A. Wecker, Limra's president and chief executive officer, said the change will allow the college to combine resources with GAMA to better meet the professional-development needs of candidates. Limra, meanwhile, will focus on delivering other educational programs, such as international management training in Europe and the newly emerging markets of Asia and Latin America.
