American Clean Skies Foundation Statement on President Obama's Remarks on New Energy Policy.

WASHINGTON -- The American Clean Skies Foundation issued the following statement on today's remarks by President Obama regarding his new energy policy.

"President Obama's remarks today underscore his administration's serious approach to finding new ways to produce and conserve energy in America and to stimulate the U.S. economy. This is truly a step in the right direction toward achieving the goal of creating a new energy economy. The President's remarks suggest he understands the critical importance of creating a new energy future for America built around alternative energy sources. Natural gas can play a key role in the new energy economy because it is abundant, American and environmentally friendly; and it is an ideal complement to other alternatives such as wind and solar. Increased use of natural gas either directly in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG) or indirectly as the power behind plug-in hybrids to power our cars and trucks represents the surest, quickest, and lowest cost way for America to improve its economy and environment and improve our national security. Natural gas is truly the energy bridge to a better and cleaner future for America."

The American Clean Skies Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to educate the public about environmental and energy issues.
