AMERICAN CIVILIAN CONTRACTORS AND U.S. MILITARY PREPARED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY'S VIRTUAL IA RENEWAL SEMINAR

First Online IA Renewal Program Finding A&P and IA Technicians Logging on Around the World

Aircraft Maintenance Technology (AMT See vPro. ) magazine, the leading source providing information for aircraft technicians and their managers, has found its first-of-its-kind online Virtual IA Renewal seminar for A&P and IA technicians to be in high demand, especially with American civilian contractors in Iraq and among U.S. Military personnel. AMT announced in July it would offer an IA renewal seminar on its Web site www.AMTonline.com, giving thousands of technicians the ability to receive FAA-approved renewal training. The seminar will launch in January 2005.

"IA renewal credits are an essential part of A&P and IA technicians' training, but finding the time and classes can be difficult, especially for those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan," says AMT magazine Publisher Greg Napert. "Technicians can now work through our FAA-approved web-based seminar throughout the year at their own pace on any computer with Internet access See how to access the Internet.  and not have to wait until they return home, many times leaving limited class options."

The online seminar will consist of slide presentations with streaming audio A one-way audio transmission over a data network. It is widely used on the Web as well as company networks to play audio clips and Internet radio. Computers in home networks stream audio (mostly music) to digital media hubs connected to home theaters. . Unlike live presentations, technicians may view the online seminar program at their leisure and review the presentation as often as needed as needed prn. See prn order.  for a full year. Technicians who complete eight seminar hours are eligible for IA renewal credits as long as two hours of FAA regulatory seminars are completed, which is offered through AMT's virtual program.

"I know as a flight instructor A flight instructor is a person who teaches others to fly aircraft. Specific privileges granted to holders of a flight instructor certificate vary from country to country, but very generally, a flight instructor serves to enhance or evaluate the knowledge and skill level of an  that we have had the online renewal or correspondence for some years. Why not the IA?" says Albert J. Williamson, an American civilian contractor working on military aircraft in Iraq. "I've been passing the amtonline (amtonline.com) to both the civilian and military guys and some are (planning on) using it for their own recurrency and training."

"We are currently targeting January 10th as the launch date for the virtual IA renewal seminar," adds Napert. "A nominal $20 registration fee covers one full year of access to AMT's online seminars."
