American Century Investments Names International Equity CIO.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- American Century Investments today announced the appointment of Mark On as senior vice president and chief investment officer (CIO) of its International Equity discipline. On, 46, joins the company from global asset management firm AXA Rosenberg, where he served as Asia Pacific CIO and managing director.

As CIO, On, a 17-year investment industry veteran, will oversee the international investment teams responsible for approximately $9 billion in assets under management. Established in 1991, the company's International Equity discipline is based in New York and consists of five distinct strategies: International Growth, Global Growth, International Small-Mid Cap, International Small Cap and Emerging Markets.

On also will serve as co-portfolio manager on American Century's Emerging Markets strategy, which the company introduced in 1997. Encompassing more than $730 million in assets, Emerging Markets is co-managed by Patricia Ribeiro.

On has been serving as Asia Pacific CIO and managing director for AXA Rosenberg since 2003. In that role, he oversaw the Singapore-based investment management teams responsible for approximately $9 billion in assets under management. Other responsibilities included formulating and developing investment policies and programs and directing the portfolio management, research, trading, operations, systems and investment risk functions.

He also participated in the firm's strategic investment and product planning process. On joined AXA Rosenberg in 1990 as a research associate and later became a director overseeing valuation and risk models used in security selection. Prior to AXA Rosenberg, he was a senior associate programmer at IBM.

On has a bachelor's degree in computer science and economics from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago with a finance and marketing concentration.

On is the latest in a series of additions American Century has made to its investment management area in the last 12 to 14 months. Enrique Chang, the former president and CIO of Munder Capital Management, joined the firm in March 2006 as chief investment officer of the International Equity discipline and was promoted to the top CIO position in January 2007. In the international area, Patricia Ribeiro was hired as a portfolio manager on the Emerging Markets team in May 2006, and Alexander Tedder joined the International Growth strategy as a senior portfolio manager in July 2006. Also, American Century bolstered its fixed income portfolio management ranks with the hiring of Jim Keegan in February 2006.
