American Century Investments Named One of Computerworld Magazine's 100 Best Places to Work; Investment Firm Named Fourth on Information Technology List.

Its headquarters are located at 4500 Main in Kansas City, Missouri, near the famous Country Club Plaza. It was formerly known as Twentieth Century Investments. The company was founded by James E.  has made Computerworld Magazine's list of 100 best places to work in IT. The Kansas City-based firm, which ranked fourth, is one of only four Missouri firms to make the list.

For the 12th consecutive year, Computerworld conducted a survey to identify the 100 Best Places to Work for IT professionals. Only companies with 2004 revenue of $250 million or greater and a minimum of 500 employees in the U.S., at least 100 of whom were U.S. IT employees, qualified to complete the 100-question survey.
