American Century Announces Promotion, Addition On International Equity Team.

American Century Investments, a Kansas City-based investment management company, announced the promotion of Raymond Kong to portfolio manager on the international equity investment team.

Kong joins Michael Donnelly as co-portfolio manager for the $105 million American Century Emerging Markets Fund.

Kong, who recently completed a three-year assignment at American Century's Singapore office as a managing director, previously was senior international investment analyst providing fundamental research and equity analysis on prospective international investments and assisting in the maintenance of information on current holdings. He continues to provide analysis for other American Century international funds.

Kong, 36, joined American Century in 1993 and now works in New York at the company's head office for international investment operations. Kong received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's of business administration in finance, both from Virginia Tech. Mark Kopinski, who previously was co-portfolio manager on Emerging Markets, is focusing his portfolio manager duties on American Century International Growth Fund and American Century International Discovery Fund.

American Century also announced that Stephen Chan, 39, joined the International Equity team as an international investment analyst and managing director in Singapore. Chan provides the international equity team with fundamental research, equity analysis and coverage of the Asian markets. Chan, a Singapore resident, brings seven years of investment experience, most recently as vice president, research for Merrill Lynch (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Chan, a certified public accountant, received his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a master's in business administration in finance from Stanford University.
