With more than nine million Americans alive today having been diagnosed with cancer, the ACS Web site is an invaluable resource for cancer patients and their families. However, as the number of Web-based health information resources has increased dramatically, ACS decided it was necessary to redesign its site to remain a top resource. With 16 divisions across the country, ACS required a Web content management solution that would allow local content contribution while maintaining control over a consistent editorial style and tone. For example, ACS wanted to maintain a consistent look and feel for the events section of its site while allowing ACS employees in Boston to contribute the information about the Run for Life in Boston.

The ACS plans to launch the redesigned Cancer.org site in the second quarter this year.
