Minerals (TSE:ABP) -- The Board of Directors of American Bullion Minerals Ltd. ("American Bullion") are pleased to announce that Donald J. Barker, P. Eng., has accepted an appointment to the Company's Board.

Mr. Barker has over 29 years of industry experience including operational positions with Cominco Ltd., Similkameen Mining Company, Granisle Copper Ltd. and Fording Coal Limited. He brings an extensive engineering and operational background to the Board of American Bullion that will be extremely valuable as the Company pursues the development of what management expects will be the next substantial mine in B.C., a copper/gold mine on the Red Chris Property. In addition to a traditional mining perspective, Mr. Barker brings a creative approach that has proven critical in the recent positive advancement of the Red Chris Project.

Acting as a catalyst for the conceptualization, analysis and development of what has been termed the "gravity mining" approach, Mr. Barker has played a critical role in the completion of the 'positive' Pre-Feasibility Study that the Company has recently received for the Red Chris Project. In addition, he was responsible for identifying and re-defining its unique 'shear hosted' high-grade core that contains 117 million tonnes grading 0.602 percent copper and 0.486 g/tonne gold.

The Board of Directors will now be comprised of four members, including Mr. Chuck Wills, President, Mr. Richard Whittall, Vice President Corporate Development, and Mr. Hector MacKay-Dunn, Secretary. Mr. Barker will continue his duties as a member of American Bullion's Senior Review Board and as the Company's Senior Mining Engineer.

American Bullion is a mineral resource company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Its principal asset is the Red Chris Project, a large, advanced stage copper/gold deposit located in Northwestern British Columbia. The Company is pursuing the development of a mine at Red Chris, as contemplated in the recently completed 'positive' Pre-Feasibility Study.
